This grasp will allow a child to manipulate a ball or round object

This grasp is useful when a child is carrying their backpack or a bag filled with snacks or toys
A child will use this grasp to hold a water bottle or any type of bottle/jar
This grasp is utilized when opening a container
(children tend to ask for help for this task)
This grasp is used to hold small objects and precision tools
A child that cannot do this could use occupational therapy to work on their fine-motor skills
A child may use this grasp when trying to exert power on a small object like picking up gum or an ipod
Picking up small objects and putting them in a jar will be a therapeutic activity for a child who lacks fine-motor skills such as this
There are many ways to hold a pencil/pen/marker/crayon...
This however, is the correct way
The fine muscles of the hand will get less fatigued this way and will allow a child to participate at ease in school and home activities such as homework or coloring
